Recognising the special work done by Roger Harrison.

Sep 2022
The VCT Trustees wanted to recognise the special work done by Roger Harrison, who is a true guardian and advocate of our precious chalk rivers.
Roger and his family have lived in the Itchen Stoke Mill in Ovington on the upper River Itchen for over 70 years. His section of river remains one of the most beautiful sections of chalk river in the whole world.
Roger and his family have always managed the area with such integrity, and wildlife abounds. He has always seen himself as a steward with huge responsibility to manage and sustain at least his site for the future. His contribution and energy in trying to safeguard these special habitats has been exceptional.
Roger is a very worthy winner of the VCT’s “Special Recognition Award”.
